A Menasha man has been charged for a fire that left a teenager severely injured.
WBAY reports that 60-year-old Michael Perez of Menasha is being held on a $750,000 bond for his role in the Fond du Lac house on September 23rd.
Perez is facing felony charges, including Arson of a Building, First Degree Reckless Injury, four counts of Criminal Damage to Property over $2,500, and Mistreatment of Animals Causing Death.
Perez is alleged to have started the fire with an improvised incendiary device.
The teenager injured, a 16-year-old of Fond du Lac, sustained a compression fracture in her spine when escaping from a second-story window.
She also suffered second- and third-degree burns to her hands and lesser burns on her face and neck.
Perez’s bail conditions include no contact with the victims or witnesses, and he is due back in court next week.
