The opportunity for students to travel to Japan is back again for another year.
An announcement from the city of Manitowoc says applications are now open for the Student Exchange Program to Kamogawa, Japan for Manitowoc area high schoolers.
The upcoming program will run from July 20th to August 8th of 2025.
Ambassadors call this a trip of a lifetime as students get the opportunity to experience traditional and popular Japanese culture, nature, and daily life with a host family.
The annual application period is open from now until March. Students will need to submit an essay and two letters of recommendation.
Applicants will be interviewed by the Manitowoc International Relations Association or MIRA.
Applications for the 2025 Student Exchange Program are due by March 6th and can be sent to tourism@manitowoc.org.
