The 2024 fall sports season was highly successful for the Big East Conference.
Kevin Buch, the Commissioner of the Big East Conference, noted that numerous teams were involved in post-season action, and as of Friday, many were still alive.
Starting with football, six of the seven teams in the Conference qualified for the postseason, and four of them made it to the second round, including Manitowoc Lutheran, Howards Grove, Hilbert, and Cedar Grove-Belgium.
The Lancers and Rockets also sent their boys cross country teams to the state meet this weekend, while Kohler’s girls squad also made the trip to Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
The volleyball teams were also highly successful, with eight hosting first-round playoff matches, with Manitowoc Lutheran, Cedar Grove-Belgium, and Sheboygan Christian still fighting for a trip to the state tournament.
And in boys soccer, Kiel continues its dominating run as one of nine Big East teams to host first-round playoff matches.
The Raiders, Oostburg, and Sheboygan Falls all still remain alive in the post-season push as well.
