Lakeland University has recently donated microscopes to local organizations.
Lakeland was the recipient of a grant from the West Foundation to purchase higher quality microscopes for the biology department’s teaching labs.
This allowed the university to help two organizations in the area with the donations. Recently, Howards Grove School District was the recipient of a large monocular scope which comes after the school district received 22 additional microscopes in 2023.
The second recipient of a donation was the John Michael Kohler Center.
They received two binocular compound microscopes in an effort to incorporate microscopy in their art course offerings.
The donations were coordinated by Lakeland University adjunct instructor Hannah Harder.
