The Manitowoc County Historical Society is asking the public for financial help.
Every winter, the MCHS conducts its annual appeal, which Operating Manager Devinne Fackelman explained on an episode of WOMT’s Our History Our Story show helps them continue to offer unique and fun programs.
“Our annual appeal specifically goes towards an area of the museum that may not see a lot of funding throughout the year, which is unrestricted operating funds,” she explained. “That means funds going towards parts of the museum that guests don’t normally see, like keeping our lights on, all of our staffing hours.”
The local hub of all things Manitowoc County history is not federally or state funded, meaning its ability to continue is solely reliant on visitor dollars and donations from the community.
“By donating to our annual appeal, you can allow us to keep our mission alive, strengthen our mission,” Fackelman noted. “We appreciate every dollar that people are able to send us.”
The Manitowoc County Historical Society is approaching 120 years of existence, and have relied on the community to help them continue to teach about the colorfull history of our area.
