A message of a need for a new generation was given by the Democratic Presidential Nominee at her lastest stop in Wisconsin.
Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to a gymnasium of about 2,000 people at Little Chute High School this evening.
Speaking before her was Wisconsin Democratic Party Chair Ben Wikler hyped of the crowd about getting out and voting.
Other speakers included Outagamie County Executive Thomas Nelson, Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez, and Senator Tammy Baldwin, whose running for a third term against Republican Businessman Eric Hovde. ‘
The final speaker before Harris was Oshkosh Mother Jennifer Meery about her experience in the hospital with her son who was suffering from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, going through a third round of chemotherapy.
Meery spoke about the need for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare and how it will be protected.
“Kamala Harris will protect the ACA,” she said. “Insuring that every American, regardless of preexisting condition or employment status will keep their insurance.”
VP Harris then took the stage and first spoke about how there are only four days left to vote in the November election.
Her message continued with the need for new leadership and an end to what she called a decade of Donald Trump’s division and fear.
We know who Donald Trump is,” she stated to the crowd. “Now this is not someone who is thinking about how to make your life better. He is someone who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and the man is out for unchecked power.”
She also told the crowd what Donald Trump’s plans are.
“Another trillion dollars in tax cuts for billions and the biggest corporations” She explained. “And this time he will pay for it with a 20% national sales tax on everything that you buy that is imported.”
She explained a plan to bring down costs like a tax cut for the middle class, ending corporate price gouging, and putting home care under Medicare. She also said she wants to be a president of bipartisanship.
“I pledge that I am not looking to score political points,” Harris told supporters. “I am looking to make progress. And I pledge to listen to those who will be impacted by the decisions that I make. I will listen to experts. I will listen to the people who disagree with me.”
Harris held another rally in West Allis at the Wisconsin State Fairground.
Donald Trump was in Milwaukee earlier today holding a rally at the Fiserv Forum, the same place that hosted the Republican National Convention.
Election Day is next Tuesday, November 5th.
