The federal government announced it will monitor polling sites in specific Wisconsin locations on Election Day.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) stated that officials will oversee polling activities in Milwaukee, Wausau, and the Towns of Lawrence and Thornapple in Rusk County.
Wausau recently drew attention when its mayor removed the city’s ballot drop box, while Lawrence and Thornapple saw controversy when election managers initially resisted using electronic voting machines.
According to the DOJ, it’s common for federal observers to monitor voting processes in Milwaukee.
The DOJ emphasized that these particular locations will be observed to ensure compliance with federal voting rights laws.
