Republicans have filed a lawsuit against Milwaukee, challenging the city’s restrictions on the number of GOP election observers at polling stations ahead of Election Day.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) claims that Milwaukee election officials have “arbitrarily limited” the number of Republican observers allowed.
Paulina Gutierrez, Executive Director of the Election Commission, explained that any observer limits are due to space constraints or logistical issues and emphasized the city’s commitment to transparency in the election process.
According to the lawsuit, some polling locations—such as Serb Hall, the Good Hope Library, and the Capital Avenue voting center—restricted Republicans to one observer.
Gutierrez noted that Milwaukee tried to reach a compromise with the RNC but believes Republicans were determined to pursue legal action.
