The 6th Congressional District came out big in favor of incumbent Glenn Grothman.
The Republican Congressman from Glenbeulah defeated Democratic challenger John Zarbano 251,791 to 160,001, which Grothman tells us is the most support he has received in his nearly 10 years in office.
“It’s the fifth time that I’ve run against the Democrat for this state, and this is the best they’ve done in all of those competitive races. So that was personally rewarding.”
Grothman says the first thing he hopes to accomplish this time around is to reduce the amount of spending at the federal level.
“So the government isn’t borrowing so much, which should lead to a reduction in interest rates and bring back affordability.”
Grothman also noted another plan he has that he hopes will help everyone’s pocketbooks.
“I also plan on opening up the energy sector, which will also reduce costs for middle class families, should lower the cost not only of gas, but the cost of food as well. And hopefully as the academy takes up, housing will become more affordable.”
Grothman gave his condolences to Eric Hovde, who lost his senate race with Tammy Baldwin.
He called Hovde a “good person” who the Congressman believed would have been “very helpful as we try to get our country back to where our forefathers wanted it to be.”
