A 13-year-old in Kenosha was arrested after attempting to bring a rifle into Roosevelt Elementary School yesterday morning.
According to police, the teen tried multiple entrances but found them locked, ultimately attempting to enter through the main door.
School staff intercepted him, initially noting he carried “suspicious bags” before Kenosha Police confirmed the presence of a rifle.
The student was arrested without incident, and no injuries were reported.
Superintendent Jeffrey Weiss praised the staff’s swift and courageous actions, with police adding that the situation could have had a tragic outcome.
