The “Sartori Big Cheese Drop” is a nationally recognized New Year’s Eve tradition in Plymouth, acknowledged as the Cheese Capitol of the world.
Now in its 18th year, this event has become a major attraction, drawing in thousands each year to ring in the new year.
The main spectacle of the event is the countdown leading to the descent of a giant cheese wedge of Sartori’s globally acclaimed BellaVitano Gold Cheese on December 31st.
The first 250 families to arrive will receive gift bags from the event’s sponsor, Satori’s Cheese.
The celebration kicks off at 7:30 p.m. in the PAC Greatroom a with live performance from the String Along Band. Other activities at the event include a cheese-tasting table, a cash bar, and free hot cocoa.
There will also be a bonfire lit from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m. for those looking to warm up.
As this is a family-friendly event, the Big Cheese Drop is scheduled for 10:00 p.m.
After the Big Cheese Drop, the music and dancing will carry on until 10:30 p.m.
