Following the passing of the referendum, the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) has given thanks and updates to voters.
Per unofficial results, 65 percent of eligible voters chose to pass the referendum which will cost approximately $121 million.
After the results of this week’s election SASD Superintendent Jacob Konrath has said, “We do not take our community’s support for granted, and we will continue our work with a strong dedication and commitment to ensuring the success of all students.”
The school district has also said the referendum will add $0.20 to the SASD mill rate for every $1,000 of property value.
In addition, with the increase the mill rate will still be decreasing by 10.7 percent compared to last year.
The implementation phase of the project will begin immediately with referendum timelines and milestones to be determined in the next few months.
The anticipated completion of Farnsworth Middle School is expected to be in the fall of 2027 with Urban Middle School to be the following fall in 2028.
