Brillion High School will be having the Chamber Manitowoc County Reality Store event on December 4th.
The Reality Store is to enrich students with basic skills in financial planning, goal setting, decision-making, and career planning.
It also encourages students to look at their attitude towards their future and what career expectations they have for themselves.
After going through the reality store, it gives students a better, more realistic idea of how their financial decisions will impact their lives.
Before the event, students will choose their future careers and research an estimate of what their monthly salary would be.
This amount gets “deposited” into their “checking account” that they bring with them to the Reality Store.
They will then take their “checkbook” to thhirteen different booths to make different purchases for their daily lives: a car, home, groceries, utilities, etc.
If interested in volunteering for the event by sitting at one of the booths or assisting the students with their financial decisions, contact Melissa Radandt at (920) 684-5575 or melissa@chambermanitowoccounty.org.
