A Manitowoc Public School has now become part of a dangerous trend.
An announcement from the Manitowoc Police Department explains that they received a vague bomb threat that was directed at Madison Elementary School.
A joint investigation was done with the Manitowoc Public School District staff with the primary concern for the safety of students, staff, and the community.
The investigation included a property search and interviews. However, MPD says the threat seems to be not credible.
In a letter to families, Madison Elementary Principal Jennifer Eichmeier says their goal is to provide a safe learning environment for students and staff and that all safety concerns and threats of school violence should be reported.
There is also a confidential tip line overseen by the Wisconsin Office of School Safety.
Manitowoc Police says another press release will advise of the outcome of the investigation, but no other information is being released.
