Karen “Chickie” Hartman, age 83, of Manitowoc, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center. Thank you to the staff there for making her final days comfortable.
Karen was born on July 17, 1941 in Manitowoc to the late Charles and Martha (Andres) Cisler. She graduated with the class of 1959 from Lincoln High School. On January 28, 1961 she married David Hartman Sr. Karen worked with Dave at the family business for several years doing the accounting work, she also worked at Weber Stephan in assembly and Saturday mornings at Weiler’s bakery. Karen enjoyed cooking, puzzles, gardening and her dog Belle. She loved spending time with family and corrupting her grandchildren.
Karen is survived by her children: Ruth (Randy) Buege, Oregon, WI, Todd (Cindy) Hartman, Reedsville, and David (Kelly Bukowski) Hartman, Hobart; brother and sister: Wayne (Joyce) Cisler and Leah Simmons; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Karen is preceded in death by her husband: David Hartman Sr.: her son Anthony Hartman; parents: Charles and Martha Cisler; and brothers and sister and sister in law: Allen Cisler, Milton (Janet) Cisler, and Calla Spevacke.
A celebration to honor Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the All Care Center, 925 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc WI, from noon until 3:00pm.
