The Sheboygan Fire Department has upgraded its life-saving equipment.
At Sheboygan’s Fire Station One, a brand-new ambulance was placed into service on November 1st.
The new ambulance will improve safety and efficiency for patients and first responders while replacing a 16-year-old vehicle.
Features of the new vehicle include fuel-saving technology, safety harnesses, a power load patient cot, and a power stair chair.
The new enhancements aim to improve patient handling and reduce the physical demands on emergency responders.
This vehicle was originally purchased in 2023 and, despite delays, is now in full use for firefighters and first responders.
The 16-year-old ambulance will be kept as a spare until other delayed ambulances arrive, at which time it will be officially retired and sold.
