As of September 30th, 2023, there were estimated to be more than 100,000 living veterans of World War II, and two of them were honored in Manitowoc Monday.
Lakeshore Family Funeral Homs hosted 72 veterans at the Manitowoc Yacht Club on Veterans’ Day, an event they have hosted for the past six years.
In attendance this year were Cliff Beaupre and Richard Mott, both of whom served in the War to End All Wars.
Beaupre is 99 years old and served in the Navy, while Mott, who is 97, was in the Army Air Force.
Also in attendance was Retired Air Force Major General Timothy Zadalis.
Vietnam veteran John Jacobs said of the event, “All the veterans had a fabulous time and are so appreciative of the support from the Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes and the Manitowoc Yacht Club.”
