Farmers around the state are being reminded of the harm that can be caused by manure runoff.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) is encouraging farmers and manure applicators to check the Runoff Risk Advisory Forecast before spreading manure onto their fields.
Checking for the forecast to check for runoff risk advisory helps determine the potential for manure runoff from a field depending on the weather conditions and soil temperature.
