Two Rivers Firefighters quickly extinguished a chimney fire over the weekend.
The fire department was called to the 2000 block of 28th Street for the fire that started in the chimney with an out-of-control fire in the fireplace.
Crews entered the home and found light smoke and sparks coming from the chimney.
After the fire was put out, Two Rivers firefighters checked and confirmed that the fire didn’t extend beyond the chimney and cleared any blockage left.
No injuries were reported, and the residents got out when firefighters arrived.
Two Rivers Fire Captain Patrick Krajnik reminds everyone to have their fireplaces and chimneys inspected and cleaned by a certified contractor before use every year.
