The Mikadow Theater in Manitowoc will become a stage for an upcoming holiday play.
A Krampus Carol by Brent Holland will open on Wednesday, December 5th, also known as Krampusnacht, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The production will run for two weeks.
A Krampus Carol introduces the shadowy figure from European folklore known as Krampus, the dark counterpart to Santa Claus.
The show is somewhat based on the famous Christmas Carol, but instead, the ghosts are trying to convince Krampus to change his ways, which is a problem because he likes the way he is.
The story is a comedic and irreverent take on Dicken’s classic, and Director Claran LaViolette says she was thrilled when asked to direct the play.
Brent Johnson will play the part of Krampus, while Mikadow Owner Kurt Duzeski will design the set.
