A teen in Oshkosh is facing charges after being accused of having a prop gun.
WBAY reports that the Oshkosh Police Department was alerted of an individual in the 300 block of North Eagle Street potentially possessing a firearm yesterday (November 19th) just before 3:30 p.m.
Oshkosh Officers quickly searched the area for the individual and notified the School Resource Officer at Oshkosh West High.
One officer found the person with the firearm, however the quickly darted away through surrounding yards.
Following a long search, law enforcement found the firearm to learn it was a facsimile gun.
Following an investigation, charges of Disorderly Conduct and Restrictions on Use of Facsimile Firearms have been referred for the juvenile.
Police believe there is no threat to the public but also warn parents of the potential consequences of allowing juveniles to play with facsimile firearms.
