As winter approaches, the Sheboygan Area School District (SASD) is reminding parents of virtual learning days.
Traditional snow days have been replaced by virtual learning days which will have students learning and doing schoolwork at home in the event of inclement weather.
Although the school district has said the first snow day of the year will continue to be traditional, as every student deserves the joy of an unexpected winter snow day, students will be required to do their schoolwork remotely for all snow days that follow. For elementary and early learning students, a take-home
packet will be provided to be completed. Middle and high school students will be required to engage in live, virtual instruction with their teachers, following the normal class schedule they would have while at school.
Families will be notified by phone, email, or text message when the SASD decides schools will be closed due to poor weather conditions.
These closures will also be posted online at sheboygan.k12.wi.us and the district’s Facebook page.
