A stove fire in Appleton was extinguished quickly on Wednesday (November 27th).
Appleton firefighters were called to the 2000 block of North Eugene Street at 11:30 Wednesday morning.
The person who called said they found heavy smoke in the kitchen.
When firefighters found the stove on fire, they put it out in about five minutes.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is still being determined.
Damage to the stove and things around it was about $20,000.
The Appleton Fire Department reminds residents to never leave anything on the stove unattended, don’t store combustibles on a stove, and minimize distractions in the kitchen.
