Some Democratic leaders in Wisconsin are expressing dissatisfaction with President Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter.
U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin voiced concerns, stating that pardons should not be granted to family members or used for political reasons.
Baldwin questioned the move while acknowledging the president’s authority to pardon his son.
Similarly, Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan from Madison criticized the pardon, warning that it could justify for former President Trump to issue pardons to a broad range of individuals, including those involved in the January 6th Capitol attack.
Most Wisconsin Republicans in Congress have expressed their strong disapproval of the decision.
