The lawyer for the Green Bay inmate charged with killing his cellmate wants to have a statement suppressed.
That’s according to court documents in the case against 25-year-old Jackson Vogel.
Vogel allegedly killed 19-year-old Micah Laureano because of his race and sexual orientation earlier this year at the Green Bay Correctional Institution.
He’s pleaded not guilty because of a mental disease or defect.
Vogel was sent to prison after pleading no contest to charges that he tried to murder a family member in Manitowoc County.
Vogel now faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide with a hate crime enhancer.
He’s scheduled to be back in court on January 3rd for his final pre-trial before his trial begins on January 27th.
