Wisconsin is set to receive additional funding to combat opioid addiction, with the state securing a $7 million grant from the federal government.
Announced by Attorney General Josh Kaul’s office on Friday, the funds are aimed at increasing access to treatment for those struggling with addiction.
Kaul emphasized the goal of providing help before individuals face overdose, incarceration, or death.
The funds will likely be directed toward enhancing current programs rather than creating new initiatives.
