Crime in the City of Oshkosh has continued its recent downward trend.
Each month, the Oshkosh Police Department releases its crime data and November was no exception to the dropping crime rates in the city.
Last month, there were no homicides, however, it remains the only statistic higher than this time last year.
In 2024, there have been five homicides thus far, as compared to just two last year.
Arson, sex offenses, and robbery have seen the biggest drop, decreasing by 67, 32, and 33 percent, respectively, compared to 2023.
Simple assault saw the smallest decrease, with 441 happening this year compared to 445 last year.
In November, Oshkosh PD responded to over 3,500 calls for service and made five OWI arrests.
There were also 28 drug or narcotic arrests made in Oshkosh, bringing the 2024 total to 505.
While homicide has doubled compared to 2023, crime as a whole continues to drop in the City of Oshkosh as the Police Department works diligently to ensure residents’ safety.
