The City of Sheboygan has been recognized for its work advancing solar energy growth.
In a press release, the city announced that it received a Silver Designation from the national SolSmart program for its strong commitment to fostering solar energy growth at the local level.
They have done so by enhancing local knowledge and resources for those in the community.
To earn the designation, Sheboygan trained staff on the best solar energy practices, clarified zoning regulations to allow installations in all major areas, and partnered with local stakeholders to promote solar awareness.
They also Streamlined the permitting process to reduce installation timelines and costs.
These efforts are aligned with the long-term goals of lowering carbon emissions, enhancing economic growth, and creating a more resilient energy future.
Sheboygan is part of communities across 43 states to be recognized with the Silver Designation by SolSmart.
