A vehicle with a body inside has been recovered from Little Lake Butte des Morts.
WBAY reports that the Menasha Police Department discovered the submerged vehicle near the 9th Street boat ramp just before 3:00 p.m. yesterday (December 16th).
The unidentified individual found in the vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene, and the car was removed from the water.
The Neenah-Menasha Fire Department and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the response.
Following the incident, authorities, including the Sheriff’s Office, have urged the public to stay off the ice.
As temperatures continue to fluctuate, no ice is considered safe ice at this point of the winter season.
