Madison Police have confirmed the identity of the shooter involved in the deadly incident at Abundant Life Christian School, though the motive remains unclear.
The shooter, 15-year-old Natalie ‘Samantha’ Rupnow, was a student at the school.
Authorities say Rupnow entered the school just before 11 a.m. and opened fire, killing one student and one teacher while injuring six others.
She later took her own life.
Police are aware of a manifesto circulating online but have not commented on its contents.
Chief Shon Barnes confirmed that authorities are working with Rupnow’s family, who are cooperating with the investigation, as they search for answers.
