Some area businesses and organizations have received grants from the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).
The WHEDA Foundation has named 52 winners for their housing grant program, including organizations in Chilton, Green Bay, Oshkosh, and Appleton.
New Hope Center, Inc. in Chilton was given $16,500.
In Green Bay, the Ecumenical Partnership for Housing has received over $44,000, while the Green Bay Habitat for Humanity and Neighborhood Housing Services of Green Bay, Inc. got $50,000 each.
Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services, Inc., Day by Day Shelter, and Covey, Inc., were awarded a combined total of $113,000.
In Appleton, Pillars Inc. also received $50,000 which is the most offered through the WHEDA housing grant program.
This program’s mission aims to assist organizations in improving housing for community members with complex needs, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, people experiencing intimate partner violence, and individuals with incomes at or below 30 percent of the area median income.
