The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced the dates for their Free Fishing Weekend.
The Winter Free Fishing Weekend is set to take place on January 18th and 19th, allowing anyone with or without a fishing license, tout stamp, or salmon stamp to enjoy fishing on all bodies of water in the state.
As is the case with all Free Fishing Weekends, all 2024-2025 hook and line regulations such as bag limits and size requirements will remain in affect across Wisconsin.
Ahead of the weekend of free fishing, the DNR also reminds anglers of ice safety.
They want all fishers to remember that no ice is ever 100 percent safe and proper precautions must be taken ahead of wetting a line next weekend.
For those looking to go ice fishing but are without the proper gear, the DNR offers loaner gear which is available at 19 tackle sites in Wisconsin.
