
Two local wrestling powerhouses could be on a collision course at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Championships.
Juniors Angie Bianchi of Two Rivers and Emjay Neumann of Manitowoc Lincoln are lined up to possibly meet one another for a state title at the Kohl Center in Madison.
Both girls are in the 120-pound weight class, with Bianchi seeded first and Neumann, despite being the defending state champion, seeded second.
Angie is the defending state champion at 114 pounds but moved up to 120 pounds for the postseason.
There are also several boys’ state qualifiers as well from northeast Wisconsin.
Preliminary matches in Division One and in the girl’s Division begin at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon (February 27th).
The competition concludes with championship matches in all divisions beginning at 5:30 on Saturday afternoon.
