
Juniors Angie Bianchi of Two Rivers and Emjay Neumann of Manitowoc Lincoln have reached the semifinals of the 120-pound weight class at The WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament at The Kohl Center in Madison.
Bianchi, the top seed, defeated Lu Rae Wenninger of Horicon in the first round by fall in 27 seconds and then knocked off Anna Behling of Bayport in the quarterfinals by fall at 1:30 of the first period to improve to 25 and 0.
Meanwhile, Neumann, the two-seed, won by fall over Tessa York of Cadott in 1:39 in the first round, then defeated Mary Prescott of Hudson in the quarters 15 to 0 in a tech fall.
Bianchi meets Catlin Whittier of Mukwonago, whose record is 31 and 2 in the semifinals. Neumann takes a 41 and 4 record into Friday’s (tonight’s) semifinals against Devlynn Albright of Milton, whose record is 39 and 1.
The semifinals begin at 7 p.m., with the winners advancing to the championship match tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.
