
The 49th Annual State Girls Basketball Tournament resumes this morning (March 14th) with the Division Five Semifinals.
Day one featured a pair of upsets.
In Division 3, #4 Xavier knocked off Elk Mound 45-35, while #2 Oostburg took down Laconia 66-57.
In Division 4, the 4 seed again knocked off the top seed, with Cuba City defeating The Prairie School 68-63.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic bested Durand-Arkansaw 58-45.
Starting off day two was top seed Assumption of Wisconsin Rapids facing the four seed Owen-Withee, followed by two-seed Lourdes Academy of Oshkosh against Third-seeded Barneveld.
The Division Two semifinals begin at 1:35 p.m. with top-seed Edgewood of Madison playing the four-seed Rice Lake.
Then, it’s the two-seed Wauwatosa East against three-seed West De Pere.
The Division One semifinals begin at 6:35 p.m., featuring a battle of Fox Valley Association rivals.
It has top-seed Kimberly meeting the four-seed Appleton East, followed by the two-seed Arrowhead against the three-seed Muskego, Championship games in all five divisions will be played on Saturday.
