Some local students will be making the trip to Madison in April for the 52nd Annual SkillsUSA Wisconsin State Leadership and Skills Conference.
Five students involved in the Mishicot High School SkillsUSA team made the cut in three categories. Karly Klein, who earned second place in the Welding Sculpture competition at the regional event, will compete in the same event at the Alliant Energy Center April 1st and 2nd, while Zach Johanek is in the Cabinetmaking event, and Jose Lopez, Xavier McCarty, and Luke Taddy are joining forces for the Team Engineering Challenge.
These students will join more than 1,750 middle, high school, and college/post-secondary students, over 200 teachers, and more than 300 industry volunteers working in more than 75 competitions.
With more than 2,500 members in over 150 chapters, SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.
