The NFL Draft is officially less than two months away, and Manitowoc is wrapping up the preparation process for the rush of people and traffic coming through for the draft.
Although the NFL Draft is only a three-day event beginning on April 24th and going until April 26th, the effect it will have on surrounding cities, like Manitowoc, will be quite significant.
The Media and Special Events Coordinator at Visit Manitowoc, Erika Christel, recently spoke with SeehaferNews.com about all the things to expect in Manitowoc for the week of the draft whether you’re a business owner or a citizen.
Christel specifically expressed what Manitowoc business owners should do to help gain attraction.
“We are expecting all of our hotels to fill up, and our main priority at Visit Manitowoc is highlighting our lodging partners to help them book the rooms at the right rates,” she told SeehaferNews.com “We’re also encouraging our local businesses to host specials and host events related to the draft. We will promote these specials on our event page, our NFL Draft page, and our social media.”
Christel also went into more detail on how businesses can gain more publicity by making sure their websites and social media pages are up to date.
“Make sure you have your contact and your bio updated, extend your hours if possible, and offer football themed specials, and deals and put that out on your social media,” she suggested. “You can already start doing that and really ramp up your social media presence in March and April, show that you’re active on there and that you have these specials and that you’re welcoming to this type of clientele. We also recommend hosting football themed events, and things like bar games or trivia.”
It is certain that the draft will bring many to the city of Manitowoc and it is even estimated that Manitowoc will gain over $2,000,000 in economic impact from the NFL Draft.
To see more information and all there is to know about the draft in relation to Manitowoc, Christel mentioned that the Visit Manitowoc NFL Draft website is the place to look.
“Most importantly we have a landing page for all things related to the NFL Draft 2025 and Manitowoc, it’s VisitManitowoc.com/NFL,” she said. “It just helps to connect our visitors with resources including what to do, and where to stay while they’re here.”
