A no-wake order has been issued in Outagamie County.
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, which made the announcement, has cited rising water levels as being responsible for the order, which took effect at sunrise yesterday (April 1st).
They have also explained that the order is in effect for all waterways within the county.
The no wake order states, “During a declared flood emergency, no person shall operate a boat faster than slow-no-wake in the waters of Outagamie County whenever traveling within 500 feet of any permanent building, structure, bridge, or pier. This does not include a floating raft.”
After water levels return to an acceptable and safe level, the order will be lifted; however, no timetable on when that will be has been offered, as significant amounts of precipitation are expected in upcoming forecasts.
