That’s singer Janet Planet at a Memorial and celebration of life for Ron Kaminski at the Capitol Civic Centre last night. The Manitowoc trial attorney, community activist, school board president And tavern/nightclub owner died earlier this month at the age of 75. Don Seehafer was a longtime friend of Kaminski and hired him as an attorney after the Seehafer’s moved to Manitowoc In the early 1970’s.
Chris Kornely, another friend and associate of the late attorney, recalled the behind the scenes gestures.
Joe Pozorski was a law partner of Kaminski’s for over 30-years and was hired by the late attorney out of law school. Pozorski said Ron was a “trial” lawyer.
Rick Gerroll knew Kaminski for many years and performed ‘with’ him on stage in local theatre.
During a formal program one speaker after another recalled the father, grandfather and friend with serious and funny anecdotes. One thing all seemed to be saying is that his departure from this earth will be felt in the Manitowoc community for a long time. Kaminski who is survived by two children and three grandchildren, is a lifetime member of the board of directors at the Capitol Civic Centre, a theatre he single-handedly helped transform into the jewel of the lakeshore when it re-opened for live performances back in the fall of 1987.
