Even though coach Mike McCarthy said he was satisfied with his ground game in last week’s 51-34 exhibition win over Pittsburgh, the Packers signed two running backs over the weekend. Bronson Hill appeared in two games in the Arizona Cardinals last season. He was released last May. Green Bay also signed running back LeShun Daniels after putting Akeem Judd on the reserved-retired list. Daniels played four games with the Washington Redskins before he was sidelined by a hand injury last season.
From the injury front, WR Jake Kumerow, who lead the Pack with 114 receiving yards against the Steelers last Thursday, reportedly suffered a sprained SC Joint in his shoulder. That being said, the team doesn’t appear to be concerned about Kumerow missing much time, which is good news for the former Whitewater receiver. Kumerow if healthy appears to be a lock to start the season on the 53-man roster. He is not even thinking about that just yet though.
Kumerow says his confidence following the Steeler game is at an all-time high.
The Pack are now preparing to take on the Oakland Raiders on Friday. It will be the first time the team has seen Jordy Nelson since being released during the off season. Kick off is scheduled for 9:30 PM at the Oakland Coliseum.
