Lee Hibbard, age 81, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
Lee was born on June 20, 1937 in Manitowoc to the late Jerome and Lillian Schweigl Hibbard. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1956. Lee enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Korea until his honorable discharge. On September 30, 1962, Lee married Beverly Shulander at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2010. Lee had worked at Shulanders Flowers, was the manager of transportation at Mirro Corporation, and then was a grounds keeper at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and above all, enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends – especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include Lee’s daughter, Brenda (Jim) Gorzelitz, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Brian Gorzelitz, Heather (Jim) Plagemann, Kayla (Kory) Pieper, Katie Gorzelitz, Stephanie (Caleb) Madson, and Austin Gorelitz; five great grandchildren, April Hardtke, Savannah Williams, Payton Plagemann, Kayson Pieper, and Seth Madson; two brothers, Richard Hibbard and Rodney (Nancy) Hibbard, both of Manitowoc; brother-in-law, Woody Shulander; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Lillian Hibbard; wife, Beverly Hibbard; two brothers, Robert and Roland Hibbard; two sisters, Fran Hibbard and Carole Reseburg; two sisters-in-law, Regina “Peg” Hibbard and Donna Hibbard; brother-in-law, Fred Reseburg; and grandson, Eli Plagemann.
A Life Celebration Social for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from noon until 3 p.m. at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
