MaryAnn Maedke, age 79, a resident of Manitowoc, passed away while surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.
MaryAnn was born on August 25, 1939 in Manitowoc to the late Fred and May (Vogel) Carle. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1958. On August 8, 1959, MaryAnn married Leonard Maedke in Manitowoc. She was a stay at home mom and took care of her children and later her seven grandchildren. MaryAnn enjoyed crocheting and making afghans for her family, crafting, gardening, going on family vacations for over 10 years to Minocqua, watching her grandchildren’s sporting events, watching as much tennis as possible – especially Roger, but above all, she enjoyed spending her time with her family and friends.
Survivors include MaryAnn’s husband of 59 years, Leonard; three sons, Craig (Debbie) Maedke, Doug (Sandra) Maedke, and Brian (Patti) Maedke, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Ranson, Brianna, Jenna, Logan, Derek, Max, and Eli; great grandson, Wesson; a close niece, Connie (Michael) Popp-Miller; also other relatives and friends. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and May Carle; two brothers, Russell and George Hrabik; two sisters, Ruth Moser and Dolly Popp; and grandson, Carl Maedke.
A Life Celebration Social for relatives and friends will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
