Many of us are cleaning up from the latest dumping of snow on the lakeshore and eastern Wisconsin. Holy Family Memorial cardiologist, Dr. Michael Rosenberg, expresses concern for those with risks of heart disease. He says February is a particularly inclement month for snow shovelers.
Dr. Rosenberg said it’s a given that when people are out shoveling that might be a trigger for a heart attack.
The local cardiologist advises that even snow blowing one’s sidewalk or driveway can be dangerous for those at risk.
Rosenberg says, “be cognizant that winter weather is bad for our feet, our vehicle and for our heart.” He added, we all think we’re invulnerable but if you know in the back of your mind that you’re not, It’s probably a good idea to heed the advice to find someone else to help you out.
