LPGA: Kirk Wins Thornberry Creek Tourney

Katherine Kirk wins the inaugural Thornberry Creek L-P-G-A Classic near Green Bay. The 35-year-old Australian native made an eleven foot putt for a birdie on the final hole, as she defeated Ashleigh Buhai of South Africa by one stroke. Birdies were in abundance, as evidenced by Kirk’s minus 22 performance at 266 for four rounds. Her first three rounds were all in the 60s before she shot a minus two 70 in the final round Sunday. Cristie Kerr was the top American native, placing fifth at 18 below par.
