Storms: Curfew In Burlington, Funnel Cloud Near Stevens Point

The mayor of Burlington in Racine County ordered a ten p-m curfew Wednesday night, after almost seven inches of rain caused record flooding on the Fox River. Officials urged county residents along the river to evacuate for the night as the water continued to rise, and the National Weather Service said the Fox would crest up to five feet above its flood stage later today (Thursday). A state of emergency was imposed in Racine County, as the state D-O-T reported road closings due to high waters in Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, and Waukesha counties. In central Wisconsin, a funnel cloud was spotted ten miles east of Stevens Point around 8:20 Wednesday night — and high winds knocked down trees in Adams County. In the far north, trees and power lines fell at Goodman in Marinette County — and in the southwest, a metal outbuilding at Viroqua had roof damage.
