The Lincoln Park Zoo in Manitowoc is observing International Migratory Bird Day today. Vicky Rathsack is Curator in charge of Education & Special events at the local zoo. She tells SeehaferNews.com the observance this afternoon will run from 1 until 4, and that “it’s a day to celebrate the migration of about 350 species of birds that come through.”
Rathsack said that people can expect “lots of information throughout the zoo on what people can do, and really neat information about birds. Then we will have games, activities and coloring pages and things like that for kids to do as well.”
The Lincoln Park Zoo spokeswoman advises that with the ongoing Waldo Boulevard construction project, there’s a little bit of a hiccup getting to the zoo, but follow the signage. They’ll be open from 7 am to 7 pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
