Eau Claire’s Matt Tolan Wins State Amateur Golf Tourney

Matt Tolan of Eau Claire wins the 116th State Amateur golf tournament. He shot a minus one 69 in his fourth and final round at the Oconomowoc Golf Club on Thursday to finish seven below par at 273. The 18-year-old Tolan was the leader going into the final round, and he finished four shots ahead of Eddie Wajda of Brookfield. Ben Skogan of Onalaska and Peter Webb of Madison were tied for third. Tolan will be a sophomore at the University of South Dakota this fall.
