Police say a 26 year old Manitowoc woman fired a gun in the air in self-defense during an argument with a 29 year old woman Sunday afternoon at 3:30 on the 5300 block of Calumet Ave. The argument was reportedly over a man, and the 29 year old struck the other woman numerous times, causing injury. The 26 year old was able to enter her home to grab the 9mm handgun and fire one shot into the air. The 29 year old ran from the scene to a friend who was waiting with a car. The 26 year old is not facing charges, because the police determined she was acting in self-defense.
