Without lifting a finger, the Milwaukee Brewers are back in sole possession of first place in the National League Central Division. The Brewers were off Monday while the Chicago Cubs dropped a half game back from a first place tie with the Crew, after losing to the crosstown Chicago White Sox 3-1 at Wrigley Field. Adam Engel and Matt Davidson both hit solo homers for the Sox, and Miguel Gonzalez went seven and one third innings for the win as Kyle Hendricks took the loss for the Cubs. Pittsburgh is third in the Central at two and a half games back, and the Cardinals are four off the pace. The Brewers open a series at Washington tonight (Tuesday) with right hander Zach Davies facing Washington’s Edwin Jackson as the Crew hopes to start turning things around after going 1-6 so far on their ten game road trip.
