Manitowoc’s “newest entertainment destination” is now open. “The Wharf Manitowoc”, located just south of the Manitowoc River off 8th Street in the downtown area, is owned by Brennan Seehafer.
Seehafer explains, “We have 100 feet of waterfront frontage, right across from the submarine. What we did is we took some recycled shipping containers and transformed them into an outdoor bar and venue. We have a beautiful stage, covered awning, heaters, tables, chairs, and about 5 dump trucks of sand that we brought in to make a little beach also.”
In his travels as a music manager, Brennan has seen a lot of different outdoor venues.
“I thought this would be a unique thing to bring to Manitowoc in the summer. We have some beautiful summer days and unfortunately, the waterfront is just underdeveloped right now. A lot of people coming off car ferry, this is the first stop for them now. It really can accommodate tourists as well as locals to hang out here.”
Seehafer explained there will be live music at his new business all summer-long.
“We have about 45 live bands, all of them are free. Then we have 4 ticketed shows that are acts from Las Vegas, tribute acts, different things like that. Every few nights, we’ll also have a food truck on site, so if you’d like to have dinner, you’re more than welcome to order from that food truck or you can also have dinner brought in here. Just have your delivery sent right to the Wharf and have your dinner on our deck.”
The Wharf Manitowoc officially opened today at 3:00 o’clock and will serve customers Wednesday-through-Friday from 3 pm until 10 pm, Saturday between 11 am and 10 pm & Sunday hours are 11 am to 9 pm. They’re closed Monday and Tuesday.
Brennan Seehafer is hopeful his new business will be a catalyst for more people to go downtown and patronize other stores, bars, and restaurants. Visit www.wharfmanitowoc.com for event details.
